Fitzgerald Mofor was born in Gaithersburg, Maryland, on August 18th, 1995, in Shady Grove Hospital.

He began his early years of education at the Quality Time Early Learning Center in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland, right on Georgia Avenue. Here in Silver Spring, Fitzgerald’s family remained very close with communal institutions that were deeply connected to their culture as Protestant Christians, and Fitzgerald had his earliest childhood memories in the Presbyterian Church.

At seven, he moved to Brookeville, Maryland, where he became a stalwart linebacker for the St. Peter's Panthers and later became a three-year letterman for the varsity football team at Sherwood High School.

Fitzgerald then traveled down south to the Bible Belt of America and attended the University of Alabama, Birmingham. There, he earned a scholarship six months after trying out for the football team and ultimately achieved his goal to become a Division One linebacker. In Birmingham, Fitzgerald started thirty-five games, earned All-Conference Honors as a senior, and helped deliver the first conference championship ever in school history.

After a decorated collegiate athletic career, Fitzgerald became deeply committed to serving his community. In doing so, he enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law to earn his Master of Law and understand the complexities of public policy and American common law. While studying, Fitzgerald became civically engaged by organizing clothing drives, working on political campaigns, and testifying before the Budget and Taxation Committee in the Maryland State Senate. Fitzgerald was also able to expand his professional portfolio by creating a construction firm to create more jobs and begin a career in entrepreneurship while also working as an assistant in his father's law practice.

During this period, Fitzgerald became frustrated by the imbalance in state and local government and ran for the School Board in Montgomery County. This is where he observed deep violations against civil liberties in public schools and committed himself to being a strong advocate for budget transparency. It’s why he was elected as the Secretary of the Montgomery County Taxpayers League, created organizations like Restore Maryland to engage voters, and was later elected as an at-large member of the Montgomery County Republican Central Committee.

As a Delegate for District 9A in the Maryland House of Delegates, Fitzgerald Mofor will be a champion for providing much-needed tax relief for middle-class families. He also plans to provide tax relief to businesses to create more jobs. He plans to prioritize pragmatic solutions regarding energy policy to bring down the cost of living for everyday ratepayers. As a delegate, Fitzgerald will be 100% committed to resolving our broken juvenile justice system.

Real Tax Relief for Maryland Families and Businesses

  • Reduce the individual income, corporate, and gas taxes that strain families and local businesses.

  • Lower the corporate tax rate from 8.25% to 6% to boost job creation and economic growth.

  • Cut the gas tax from 46¢ to 31¢ per gallon to make daily commutes more affordable.

  • Eliminate the two new income tax brackets implemented in the 2025 Budget Reconciliation and Financing Act.

Affordable Energy
for All

  • Repeal the Climate Solutions Act to ease unnecessary burdens on consumers and energy producers.

  • Streamline permitting for power plant companies to encourage innovation and reliability.

  • Offer tax incentives to energy companies that invest directly in Maryland communities.

Reforming the Juvenile Justice System

  • Repurpose four closed juvenile justice facilities into vocational boarding schools

  • Young people will have access to education, training, and opportunity.
